Heading back home
on October 5th, we stopped at the Columbia River Lookout.
What a beautiful site!
Brodie was happy to pose for the camera!!!
On October 6th, the day after our return from WSU, Brodie is crashed.
Brodie with his battle scars...hole in his forehead from the treatment tube, surgical incision scar and hot spot on his neck from the cone.
After four rhinoscopies, a CT scan, a surgical procedure, three fungal treatments and four trips to WSU (adding up to more than $11,000) in a six month span of time, Brodie seems to be healthy once again. It is now one week later and Brodie has his zest for life back. He plays for hours at a time and is making up for all those lost tennis ball chases. Time will tell if Brodie is entirely healed. The one month mark is a big one. If he has no more mucous at that time, it will be a good indicator that the fungus was destroyed. He will always be more susceptible to primary bacterial infections of his nose because of all the destruction the fungus caused. But, hopefully, we never have to deal with Aspergillosis again.
